Sails dark milk 52% coffee and cocoa nibs
The Choco Sails are thin slices of dark milk chocolate with coffee sprinkles and strong cocoa nibs. Made from Trinitario cocoa beans from the Dominican Republic with hand-picked Arabica coffee beans from a women's coffee cooperative in Colombia.
The cocoa beans and coffee beans for these 'Zeiljes' are brought from the Caribbean by the sailing ship Tres Hombres through all kinds of weather and brought to the quay in Amsterdam. Let the wind take you away and taste the power of real chocolate!
The Choco Sails do not fit through the letterbox and are sent as a parcel.

De Dominicaanse Republiek is een bekende leverancier van Trinitario cacao. Onze partner Conacado is een coöperatie die 10.000 kleinschalige cacaoboeren vertegenwoordigt en de omslag in gang heeft gezet naar goed gefermenteerde Bio en Fairtrade cacao voor klanten met hoge kwaliteitseisen. Zij hebben over het eiland grote installaties gerealiseerd verdeeld over zeven regio’s waar de cacao naartoe wordt gebracht om daar onder constante kwaliteitscontrole gefermenteerd en gedroogd te worden.
Organic cocoa ensures good biodiversity on the plantations in two ways: it improves the organic matter content of the soil, which keeps the soil life at a certain level and improves the water balance of the soil. It also requires the planting of shade trees, creating niches for birds and insects!
