Sails white with cocoa nibs & vanilla
Thin slices of white chocolate with natural vanilla and a hint of sea salt, sprinkled with crispy cocoa nibs.
We use organic cocoa butter for this white chocolate, which we buy directly from the Conacado farmers' cooperative in the Dominican Republic. The white chocolate with crunchy cocoa nibs (roasted cocoa beans that have been shelled) is extremely tasty.
The cocoa beans travel by sailing ship the Tres Hombres on wind power from the Caribbean, in about four months across the Atlantic, to the quay in Amsterdam. In our chocolate factory we make 'single origin' bio-chocolate using traditional methods, entirely on solar energy!
The Choco Sails do not fit through the letterbox and are sent as a parcel.

De Dominicaanse Republiek is een bekende leverancier van Trinitario cacao. Onze partner Conacado is een coöperatie die 10.000 kleinschalige cacaoboeren vertegenwoordigt en de omslag in gang heeft gezet naar goed gefermenteerde Bio en Fairtrade cacao voor klanten met hoge kwaliteitseisen. Zij hebben over het eiland grote installaties gerealiseerd verdeeld over zeven regio’s waar de cacao naartoe wordt gebracht om daar onder constante kwaliteitscontrole gefermenteerd en gedroogd te worden.
Organic cocoa ensures good biodiversity on the plantations in two ways: it improves the organic matter content of the soil, which keeps the soil life at a certain level and improves the water balance of the soil. It also requires the planting of shade trees, creating niches for birds and insects!
